How a Modern Country Artist is Inspiring a New Generation

Alice Benfer’s early love for country music was shaped by her Australian bush upbringing. Singing traditional songs from age seven, she quickly discovered her passion for performance and songwriting. As a young artist, Alice entered talent contests and performed at country venues, gaining confidence and winning awards that fuelled her devotion.
After graduating from the CMAA Academy of Country Music in 2014, Alice deepened her commitment to traditional country artistry. Based in Gympie, Queensland, she is recognised for powerful performances and heartfelt songwriting, including chart success with “Old Felt Hat”, which topped the Country Songs Top 40.
Her album “Voices from The Bush” showcases her ability to capture Australian stories through music. Alice’s achievements include winning the Green Brother’s Peter Blundell Memorial Talent Search in 2021 and the World Songwriting Award for “Saltbush Sally” in 2024. She continued to collect multiple awards at the Tamworth Country Music Festival in 2025 and received further nominations in 2026, along with the JobLink Plus Artist Accommodation Bursary, marking her ongoing dedication to traditional country music.
Recently, Alice Benfer has released a brand-new traditional country song, “Saddle Dreaming”, now available on all digital platforms. This track was produced by Sam Hawksley, with lyrics penned by Gregory M Dillon and music composed by Alice herself. Alice is excited to connect with new fans who appreciate her authentic country style and is eagerly preparing to release more singles in this beloved genre.
